Welcome to the Dust Bowl

We are having building work done.

The wall in one room is suffering from severe water ingress and huge remedial work has to be undertaken.

The lower half of the wall has been removed, stone by stone, a one meter trench dug, and is ready for concrete to be poured.

You can see the door suspended over the trench, left in situ, with the wall propped up with jacks and a further 6 jacks inside the room to hold up the second floor, including balcony.

Then the walls are rebuilt using the Purbeck Stone on the outside, as per the example of the jigsaw on the extreme left. Let us hope they kept box to redo the jigsaw as it was.

On the inside will be bricks made of pure gold.
I assume this is true to explain the high cost.
