Victorian Memorial

Spent a lovely day with daughter, Maria, and grand-daughter, Sasha, in the beautiful surroundings of said gd's University. We did a complete tour, geocaching which helped us explore and Sasha saw parts she did not know existed!

This monument was moved from it's original site overlooking Kirstall Hill. It was commissioned by William Beckett, a banker, who lived in Kirkstall Grange and he was hoping that the Queen would visit his estate or even stay at the Grange. She did not stay at the Grange and it is not known whether she visited his estate and saw the memorial.

A much improved Molly was with us, thanks to all of you who have wished her well. Her hospital appointment has now been set involving an overnight stay 1-2nd June. So hoping they can get to the root of her digestive problems.
