The Hidden Gardens of Beacon Hill

Today was the 86th annual tour of the "Hidden Gardens of Beacon Hill" -- a fund raiser for the Beacon Hill Garden Club.

I think the main reason the gardens are hidden is because of the hordes of people who descended upon them today!  This is primarily what I saw all day -- lines and lines waiting for admission to one tiny handkerchief plot after another.  All the gardens were charming, but oh, so small and crowded.  After a while, they all started to look the same, and I eventually cried "Uncle!" and fled home.

The extra picture shows Paul Revere looking rather disapprovingly out of a Beacon Hill window at this modern day invasion.
