Como

It looked like it was going to be a cloudy and possibly wet day, so we decided to take the bus to Como. When we got there we could see there had obviously just been a heavy shower. The Cathedral Square (in the photograph) was unusually deserted.

We headed to Il Birratrovo, a bar specialising in beer. It turned out it not only specialises in beers, but it does not even sell wine. Nonetheless we stayed on for lunch where I had a very nice burger, and a couple of pints. In the shop, which is really part of the bar, there were hundreds of beers on sale, including many from the UK.

When we left the bar it was raining quite heavily again, but it dod not last long. We had a wander around the town before returning on a late afternoon bus, which in addition to a few tourists, locals, was largely full of students returning home.

When we got to Lenno the sun had come out and the cloud we have had for the last couple of days was starting to clear.

Unfortunately the bus driver was a bit irate because a (French) tourist had pressed the bell too early, so nobody got off when the bus stopped. As a result he was ignoring the bell, and so failed to stop at our stop. Fortunately there were a lot of us wanting off, so he did stop at the next stop.
