MSC Splendida

It seems to be a busy time on the River Clyde. After the departure of the Queen Mary 2 last night, the MSC Splendida arrived this morning at Ocean Terminal in Greenock.

On the way home this evening I stopped off to take a few shots of the MSC Splendida before she headed out of the terminal on her way to Ireland. Splendida went into service in 2009 as the second ship of the 'Fantasia class' and is a sister to MSC Fantasia (both larger vessels). It is one of four ships with the exclusive "Yacht Club" facility.

About 3,247 passenger (on double basis)and 1,313 crew members can spend a great time aboard together. The ship has 17 decks, 25 elevators, 27,000 sqm public space.

With a length of about 333 m MSC Splendida is about 6 times as long as the Leaning Tower of Pisa and longer than the Eiffel Tower (which measures about 324 m).
