Heron in the Park

I have lived here for more than 30 years and today was the first time I have seen a Blue Heron in our park.  The timing couldn’t have been any better.  We had just returned from taking our friends to the C&O canal for a morning walk and decided to show them our lovely park.  I followed the Heron around the pond to various locations, in different lighting, and was able to get quite close at times. Our friends were quite amused to watch me in action.
