Boston Marriage: the final bow

Tonight was the last performance of Boston Marriage at the Corn Exchange in Biggar. From left, this is the cast of Rachael Mutl, Alison Bishop and Julie Devine taking their final bow. It's been a joyous show for cast and crew, one I've been proud to direct.

By happy chance, we found ourselves staging a play about a gay couple in the 1890s battling for security and recognition on the same day Ireland voted to have equal marriage rites for all, regardless of sexuality. Nice to see the world does move forwards, even if not everywhere at once or at the pace everyone would like.
