Squillted

At this season of the year the little six-point  stars of spring squill erupt all over the briny, wind-trimmed turf to create a quilt of lilac haze around the cliff-top hummocks, rocks and burrows. This salt-tolerant plant is a marker of the coastal zone along the western edge of Europe where the sea spray produces a unique habitat with a characteristic flora.

Additionals: the same location looking inland and a closer look at the flowers.
