Where the bluebells were

We drove up to Eathie after picking up some pies for dinner from Harry Gows , one of the local bakers. We drove through a rain shower into sunshine so stopped at the carparking space at the top of the hill and watched the rain clouds move over Fort George and Chanonry Point. The lighting was amazing as beams shone through the clouds lighting up areas of the firth and land.
We moved onto Eathie and walked along to the pond. I was hoping to see the beautiful bank covered in bluebells like last year but it would seem that sheep have been kept in the field and eaten everything in sight so not a bluebell to be seen :( I could see a smoke haze and a slight smell but could nt see where it was coming from.
Mike popped into the Cromarty Brewery for a few bottles of ale and we followed the road round to see where we would end up. We came across a huge house with a peacock in the garden. It turned out to be an animal rescue centre called ' Horses in Clover'.
We eventually came to the source of the fire, what looked like a farmer burning his field. SOOO much smoke form such a small fire. The whole sky was filled with smoke which actually looked quite effective as the sun gave it an orangey tone. You can see it blowing across the road.

Had one baby dunnock in the garden today .
