Bank Holiday beach

Down to Newcastle late morning on a serious shopping expedition - neither of us is fond of shopping but, sometimes, it just has to be done! Having acquired curtains for the living room and lamps for the spare bedroom (and tried out several sofas), Mr M drove us home along the coast road.

We stopped off for a walk at Druridge Bay Country Park en route - miles of golden sand, nice mild weather but hardly anyone around! Nothing but sea, sand and dunes looking north; in the blip, to the south, chimneys of the aluminium smelting works, a power station and some wind turbines in the far distance.
