Afternoon Thunderstorm

The sun was shining in a bright blue sky this morning but the clouds started to build after lunch and the storm really moved in suddenly. When I shot this the sun was still bright behind me but the clouds were closing in on it.  I could hear thunder in the distance and it was eerily still. When I made it back to my car less than 10 minutes later, the sun had been covered by the dark cloud, the thunder was louder and the rain was just starting.  It poured rain for about 15 minutes and then the storm moved on as fast as it had come and the sun shone again.  This is typical of our spring storms.  All the rain we have had since mid April is very unusual and, hopefully, is over!
