Contrasting Landscape

Bright, but very breezy day today.  Whilst walking over Haworth Moor I was struck by the different colours in the view.
On the left we have farmland, in the foreground rough common land, and on the right the moorland that forms part of the Walshaw Grouse Moor.
I have no idea what the 'strips' are - they are new - could they be something to do with drainage?
