Mining at Beamish

Holiday day 2
We're down in Durham for the week, and today we took the boys to Beamish. The weather wasn't great, but the boys enjoyed having a good wander round looking at all the different houses and historic cars etc.

We got to go into a proper mine shaft too - after hearing about some of the conditions that the miners would have to work in (and the fact that they weren't paid for the time it took them to get into the mine - up to 2 hours in some cases) I'm really not sure how they did it.
