A walk along the towpath.......

Had an interesting walk today,  along the towpath of the River Wey in Guildford. A few boat people were busy renovating their barges in readiness for the season, although quite a few boats are lived on permanently. Crossing a bridge these cogs on the sluice gate caught my eye, I wonder who Jesse Stone was, he apparently was involved in the construction of the gates and its workings in 1885. What fine workmanship!
