starflower 6

i walked up the stream, just before the rain hit.  the light was very low and it was windy.  still worth a shot.  found this six petalled starflower.  (also found some eights, but i didn't like the photos as well.)

now that i have a macro lens….  i see such detail.  this starflower with six petals has six stamens while the seven petalled flower i blipped yesterday had seven stamens.  hmmmmm…..  a pattern?  to be continued…

can you believe i find this fascinating?  actually, i do.
