The woman and her land

Ceridwen among the bluebells and the sheep on Pen Dinas with us. See her blip for the whole story.

Spectacular day with Ceridwen. Hearing her stories of history, myth, and the changes  on the land caused by people doing the mad things they do. Walking the Pembrokeshire Coastal Trail through bluebells, cow parsley, and red and white campion, past a sea stack nesting-ground for guillemots that resemble penguins, making our way (with the help of a friend of Ceridwen's, a strong-minded Welsh school mistress driving a Golf car through the Gwaun Valley where generations of her people have farmed and been buried) to Pentre Ifan: 5000-year-old dolmen made of the same bluestone from these Preseli Hills as built Stonehenge. Stroking the stones, laughing at the curious sheep, beating our chests with wonder at the glory of the day and the richness of the company. Pure happiness, gratitude, amazed delight.
