'Cross Section'

Went out for lunch in Camberwell today and stumbled across this building in a rear laneway.

It is obviously a heritage listed facade which is required to be maintained during any building works. It looks like a major renovation was started some years ago and then abandoned for who knows what reason.

The amazing thing about this is that the complete rear section of the building has been meticulously demolished leaving a perfect cross section through the building revealing the structural bones, just like in an architectural construction drawing. This is something that is rarely ever seen.
