Waiting in a queue at the Post Office

Only real opportunity for an impromptu shot today.

Volatile and exciting weather put paid to laying the underlay and pond liner this afternoon. In the morning the forecast promised light rain shower. By lunch time it was raining heavily with gusty winds. When that passed we were rattled by heavy showers and hail. Fine weather for the end of May.

Instead of working outside on the pond I made a batch of chilli jam, a delicious confection using chillies (of course), red peppers, cider vinegar and jam sugar. It goes well with many foods but especially spread on crisps.

Chris and De'Shaun are arriving from San Diego to more for.a flying visit, over for a wedding next week but are staying with us for a few nights. Hope to take them to France on Tuesday.
