horns of wilmington's cow

I 'think' this is an Oak Beauty moth caterpillar. Certainly needed a closer look to determine it was, first, a caterpillar, then also alive. This was down at Woodhall Dean in the sun, once more hoping for a sighting of some Adders, but it was busier than we've ever seen (four cars parked up!)  so they had probably slithered off elsewhere. Not much else in the wildlife stakes (though we heard a cuckoo there for the first time), so it was back home for some gardening, putting fancy new boots on the cross bike, and making cinnamon buns for Mels birthday breakfast tomorrow. Day seemed gone in a flash.

But one more week, and this time next week we're back on Skye. C'mon weather, give us something to shout about!
