Is 30 really that awful?

The diamond jubilee

Great spot for the parade in London, we were standing between Trafalgar square and horseguards parade.
We had a convenient alcove area behind us where we parked the buggy and picnic. And the mounted police's horse lorries in the side street opposite so lots and lots of photos.

We were some of the first on to the Mall once they opened up the road and I had to use my 'mum voice' with a row of policemen who tried to separate me and 'nanna' from littlemonkey who was sitting on daddy's shoulders. All it took was a very effective 'thats my baby'.

We didn't go down to the palace initially as we were planning to picnic in the park after the fly over. The planes were fantastic although it would have been good to see the current planes too. The red arrows, as ever, were magnificent.

The celebratory feel of the whole day was wonderful, despite the early afternoon rain, and it really did make you feel proud to be British.
