Thanks a bunch Apple

Wasted all day trying to transfer photos from a pc to an Ipad. Ended by installing the latest I Tunes which also wouldn't work but did upset other things so that I had to use System restore.
I still haven't transferred the pictures, I'll buy a card reader and do it that way.
