The Custom House

This is the house of the customs department in Iceland. I had to go there to day to get a statement that I was free from debts - it's a long story.

The mosaic is by Gerður Helgadóttir. It is 44 m long and 4,5 m high and was finished in 1973. Gerður worked at the mosaic at Oidtmann brothers in Germany and they put it on the wall. It has not changed since as long as I have followed the aging of it.

This building is the one you look at when you eat your hot dog from yesterday as it is benhind you when you look at the hot dog stand.
