Presidents and Queens

OK, pedants out there - that should be President's and Queen's, but it wouldn't have made as good a title.

It was the Annual Display of the 1st Cumbernauld Boys' Brigade Company on Thursday evening, and a mighty fine evening it was too, with a marvellous turnout of boys, from the Anchor Boys (P1 to P3), Junior Section (P4 - P6), and Company Section and Seniors, as well as many parents, families and friends.

It was an evening of energy, enthusiasm, skill and dedication, but most of all fun. We even had a game of 'human hungry hippos' which had to be seen to be believed. Moreover, the tea, coffee and cakes at the interval raised the fantastic sum of £490 for Christian Aid.

At the end of the Display there was the presentation of awards and we were delighted that three young men received their President's Badge and two - Kyle McCallum and Scott Sloan - were awarded their Queen's Badge, the highest award in the Brigade.

Well done to all concerned. It was a wonderful evening and testament to the hard work of all the officers, helpers and boys concerned.
