Three little maids

H, a school and college friend of T's who is now working in Norfolk, came to lunch.  It was really good to see him again and catch up.  Later N and I went down to the yard to feed some cake to the cow and calf and two steers who have been unwell but are now on the mend.  We also checked the in-calf cows in their field and the new South Devons came up to check us out.  They are heifers we bought in to replace some of the older Hereford cows and come from Cornwall and Dorset but they seem to stick together in one bunch  apart from the Herefords which is interesting.

This evening Tand N with the quad bike succeeded in separating two animals and a few more away from a group of about a hundred young beef cattle to be TB tested on Tuesday.  We have had a notification from AHVLA (Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency) that the two animals have to undergo a TB Tracing Test because of "an incident" with the previous owners.
