F9 sent me home

A week off work. A long weekend on the boat with the girls ( now I am a single lady). Thought yay, where can we go 4 days sailing in June. Thought west about mull, maybe south to colonsay or jura, or north to small isles. Friday night headed south 6 miles to fav wee anchorage. Didn't realise wouldn't get further. Forecast said 5 -7, 8 and even 9. Managed a sail on sat, but for safety went back to safe anchorage. Put down two anchores. All ok. Spent night awake checking all ok, while other boats tried to re-anchor and me warning not to drop over ours. Stayed in port next day hoping all would clear. In the gust two boats dragged anchor and one ended up on the beach. So me and friend went out in dinghy to see if we could help. We got a no thanks, maybe a bit much to be offered help from two lassies. That night got the updated forecast. F9 coming in. So made a run for it. Lifted two anchors, which was hard as they got in a muddle. Then sailed down to oban, running before the storm. Everything unloaded boat safely on mooring. Then set off in dinghy in pitch dark in hail storm, trying to row in as outboard failed. Made it. Boat safe. All crew safe. Home (oban) at midnight. A few glasses of wine needed to recover and trip cut short by a day and no new places explored. Hey girls sailing team worked. We were good in tough conditions. Home now. Heating on and chilling out. A week off to catch up on Study and jobs. Maybe I can do things at a slower place for a while. Is it really june? All the hills are white. If it wasnt for the daylight. It feels like october.
