Lend a hand?

M., my husband has wanted one of these ever since we saw one in an armoury shop in Prague over 10 years ago ... A long story, but he has got some armour I picked up at a antique fair when we lived in an apartment in a stately home.. so the articulated hand... It is really rather good.. Though I see it on the back of the sofa and it makes me jump. I have no idea what he is intending to do with it, I have given up asking..
