Up On The Wall

An interesting day in our office in London. We were advised midway through this morning that we couldn't leave the building as there was a "protest" outside. In turns out the main revolving doors had been blocked by protesters. Looking out of the window we could see a large number of police and other emergency services on the scene.

The doors were opened at lunchtime but quite a few areas were taped off with the police controlling the situation. It was a demo against the fossil fuel industry's impact on climate change, part of a whole host of different actions across London today. Another company in our building was targeted (apparently they have interests in fossil fuels) as the newly appointed minister for climate change previously worked for them!

By lunchtime the protesters had managed to get themselves up on part of the building so they could be seen holding this banner for all the traffic on London Wall to see (and for me, Chris, to photograph). They were eventually peacefully arrested.

Certainly made a different Monday in the office.
