Parish Churches of Guernsey 1

There are 10 parish churches in Guernsey. This is St Martins. The pretty approach path is lined with St Peter Port daisies. They were introduced into Britain in the 1830s from Mexico, as garden plants. The first record of it becoming naturalised comes from St Peter Port in Guernsey in the 1860s

But local lore insists they were brought from the Mediterranean by the Romans. Which is much more romantic. "what did the Romans ever do for us?".
