Arriving in Kuala Lumpur

We arrive at Colombo Fort station at 5am having managed a few short naps. We find coffee and a snack then get on the bus to the airport which seems to go via all the back streets rather than on the highway but we have plenty of time so it doesn't matter. We get dropped off at a bus station about a km or so away from the airport. We're tired and don't know the way so get a tuk tuk to the terminal.

There are loads of money exchange places and we are told that once through to the check in area we can't spend our Sri Lankan money so change it up into dollars. We are, however, not allowed through to the check in area until 8am so have to wait. We are then allowed through but are still unable to check in for another hour or so .... strange system in this airport. We finally get rid of the bags and grab some food ... where of course they do accept Sri Lankan currency and give us our change from our dollars in rupees!

On the flight we manage a short snooze again and take some pics as we come into land in Kuala Lumpur. It's then the airport express train and two stops on the LRT, a short walk and we finally reach our destination. We go for a vegetarian thali at an Indian we discovered last time we were here then it's back to the hotel, some premiership footie on the TV then a well earned sleep.

Our journey in the last 24 hours: tuk tuk, train (10 hours), bus, tuk tuk, aeroplane, skytrain and tube ... phew!
