Beetle Breakthrough

No time for togging today but I spotted this mural at Station Garage in Bishops Stortford on the way to take the Volvo for service. I snapped it on the way back from picking up the car.

Designed by Ferdinand Porsche, one can see the elements of the 911 in the design of the Beetle. It was a car for the people. I nearly bought a convertible in the seventies when the arrival of my children precluded driving the TR4. (Glad I didn't as I got my Lancia Beta Spider instead.)

My daughter had great fun with one of her early boyfriends who was into Vee Dubs. They attended Bug Jam. It was rad. ;) Because of this she and I both lust after Karmann Ghias - rat-look for me. :)
