Exploring

Woke to rain, so had a leisurely breakfast as it got progressively better then worse then better again, watching the birds coming to the feeders on the patio and perusing maps. Tried to light the fire and settle to read, but it didn't really catch.
Set off to explore Achiltibuie, popping into craft shops and the cafe in the piping centre, then drove round to the beach at Polbain where we found these huge rusting buoys (I presume), then further round via a walk up a hill to a viewpoint over the summer isles to Achnahaird beach- huge sweep of pink sand (see extra) and with the tide out we had a lovely (windy!) walk. Can't believe it's June-huge skies full of threatening clouds and a chill wind.
Home and read some more novels with a big pot of tea, then to Altandhu bar for dressed crab followed by fresh local scallops and chips. Delicious!
Back to the cottage and it looks like the skies are clearing....maybe tomorrow will be brighter!
