Time to say goodbye

This morning Marie had her Surgery and while she was in Recovery Mr Roadley spoke to me and showed me Photos of Marie's Bowel; he is concerned with inflammation and has taken a lot of biopsies. The word Colitis was used. Maries surgery went very well and is now resting back at home. MrsPuff This afternoon I attended Johns Funeral where the service was conducted by our own Club Minister who is also a runner Peter did a great job of Johns service. Members of the Tennis Community spoke of John and his prowess at the game and being a Member of the NZ International Tennis Club to become a member you had to represent NZ overseas. In 1962 John was a member of the Davis Cup team where he was the only member of the team to win a game and had also got into the third round at Wimbledon. John played a Doubles Match on the street in Auckland where he partnered with Charlton Heston. John gave up Tennis and become a runner competing in Marathons and Ultra Distance Races. John used to go out the night before with Bottles of Coke taking the top off so it would go flat ad then hide them in the bushes along the training course. John was an only Child and never Married. Now it was time to say goodbye and John's extended Family from the Running and Tennis community were there to make sure he was not on his own. Time to say goodbye
