TARBAT NESS, PORTMAHOMACK

Amongst other things, a trip to the lighthouse today, though as we reached the furthest point from the car the heavens opened and we got soaked. It was still beautiful though.

Then we looked for an Osprey nest we had seen a couple of years ago along the road. There was no sign of them but then just a little further along was a new nest and so close to the road. As we were watching the female on the nest and the male on a nearby branch took off and chased a third Osprey, which we assume was another female trying to usurp the resident one. They saw her off and peace was resumed. I have put the male Osprey on as an Extra Photo.

The showers were heavy and frequent today but it was very hot when the sun shone.
