Contemplation

Mardo's father was a hero from Musa Dagh - one of the few places where Armenians resisted the Genocide of the Ottoman Empire. They were eventually rescued by the French. Mardo was born in Musa Dagh but at the age of 6 he and most of the remaining Armenians from that area went into exile in 1939 and were resettled in Anjar in Lebanon.

The extra photo shots a typical Yerevan street scene with a lattice of overground gas piping - most of the buildings date from the Soviet era & I guess it was cheaper not to bury the pipes underground.
