Checking mother and calf

N and I walked through the paddock to the calving field beyond in the evening to check there was nothing calving and that all the animals appeared well and were all there.  This was the calf we had to feed by tube and we were rather concerned it had that empty look about it again and appeared to be moving slowly so we called B down to have a look as N nor I can scarper quickly if the mother becomes possessive.   We decided to look again in the morning since it was walking about and the mother was showing it attention.
