A piece to camera

This Russian reporter was preparing his piece for Moscow outside Southwark Crown Court. He had been amused by one of the Hatton Garden defendants inviting the judge to take tea at Belmarsh Prison.
The reporter had been less amused the other day when preparing a piece in similar fashion outside Liverpool Street station. Two yobs had ridden onto the pavement on a scooter and taken his camera and tripod from under his nose. Police gave chase and caught the villains but could do nothing as the equipment had been dumped before police caught up.
Is this an unsolved crime or no crime committed?
