Carrion Crow - Corvus corone

The all-black Carrion Crow is one of the cleverest, most adaptable of birds. I haven't had one in my garden since last year - plenty of Rooks and Jackdaws but rarely a Crow. As well as dining off the wee birds' feeder they eat insects, earthworms, small mammals, amphibians, scraps and will also steal eggs  -  quite an appetite!  There were lots of Sparrows around the feed tray too, so the best is my extra photo today. My new Gardener was due to call today but it looks like rain - it's dark, dull, drizzly and cold so I doubt whether she will turn up. Hope your weather is better than mine!
