Allium Ursinum

.... or Wild Garlic as it is commonly known.
Out for a bike ride today, we encountered swathes of wild garlic with it's pungent smell. Right now it's delicate white flowers are out, making this plant particularly endearing.

Unlike common cultivated garlic, it is the leaves that are eaten rather than the bulbs.
There are various recipes using the stuff, but wild garlic pesto has to be my favourite - it's irresistible! There is a recipe here.
