New Life

After taking some 150 various shots of various things including loads of the birds on the feeders I spotted a little bundle of baby spiders on the drain pipe just outside our back door - so wrestle the macro extension tubes from Mrs W and here is a blip.

We think they are the young of the ‘Wasp Spider’ (Argiope bruennichi) as it is the only UK spider with similar markings They were in a ball when I spotted them but rapidly spread out when disturbed, going back into a ball when I left them.  The fine lines of the web show up quite well.

They are all about 1mm long.  The inlay shows the markings well, so if any expert wishes to enlighten us further comments are always welcomed.

I have added a couple of the bird shots in Flickr -  jackdaws on the feeders.
