What struck my fancy

Lugworms

produce the thin spiral coiled casts on freshly exposed sandy beaches when the tide has gone out. Catching them involves rapid digging because they burrow deeper when they detect surface disturbance. They make good bait for anglers. This chap showed us his catch of lugworms, they are 6 inches plus long, as wide as a finger and red. When the tide comes in he will be fishing - all makes for a full time occupation.
