Getting the sparkle back

Not quite sure...

 - What to do with our legs when we're out of the water.

 - Or how best to share weed (in the extra photo).

The cygnets at Blackford Pond.

For the record, there was a moorhen on the erstwhile coot nest (where the heron was standing on our last visit), there was a coot on the swans' nest on the island, and a moorhen nest up a tree on the island, with one moorhen on the nest and another bringing bits of nesting material. There were two herons on the island, one adult and one young, so we didn't fancy the coots' chances of bringing up babies there. All in all, it 's musical nests. We reckoned that the moorhens were in with the best chance with their nest up a tree. We also saw a little grebe again, just one, showing no signs of nesting, but last year they were quite late getting started. No one seems to be nesting in the reeds any more, and there were no Canada geese around. You could set a bird soap opera at Blackford Pond.
