Newcastle Downunder

The day after

We had bursts of torrential rain overnight and then patchy showers during the day but now the skies are clear to the west. Still clouds to the east but maybe they will be gone by the morning. This was Newcastle beach this morning. Very different to yesterday although the waves were still powerful.

I noticed a lot of debris on the beach, mainly broken plastics and rubble washed away from somewhere. The waves had damaged fences and stairs and there were a number of blue bottles in amongst the rubbish. There was a single thong (flip flop) and many plastic bottles and deodorant bottles. Now what are they doing in the sea. The oddest thing was a green plastic water pistol. I thought the clouds were rather nice and that one bright white one created a nice reflection. The building to the left is the ocean baths.
