Bramble Blossom

We visited the Freudenberger Kerb and I have to say it was not really meant for us.  It's much more a families with kids thing - funfair rides and stalls selling Festival food (the inevitable half meter sausage in a 10cm bun).

My ear was caught by the traditional Blasmusikband (a small brass band) playing a weird selection of songs including The Eye Of The TIger, Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep & Smells Like Teen Spirit.

We took a walk to our local Apfelweinstube* but so had 500 other people and it was way too full and noisy.  Not surprising given that it has a great view and the weather is simply glorious.

That kind of reiforces how much the Deutsche love living outdoors.  Our neighbours have been pretty much permanently in the garden since the middle of May. The weather here makes that possible.  (I have to say that when it gets to over 30°C, I start to melt.)

*The website is only in German. They specialise in the German version of Cider called Apfelwein.  That's another specialty of this part of Germany. And Stube is another name for a bar.
