Slalom Rapids, Grandtully, Perthshire

We drove up the A9 towards Pitlochry and turned off to visit Grandtully, as I'd seen a sign advertising their Gala Fair today.  We parked in the car park and walked down to the River Tay - just in time to see several groups of thrill seekers engaged in white water rafting on the Slalom Rapids.

The noise from this group was deafening and you'll see why from my extra photo - they were girls all screaming at once:-)

We had a very nice lunch in "Legends", the café attached to the premises of Iain Burnett aka the Highland Chocolatier, but managed to walk back through the shop without buying anything chocolate-y.  Perhaps the prices had something to do with it!!  Seriously sky high:-)

The Gala Fair was small, but well organised, with something for everyone, but a biting wind spoiled the enjoyment of standing around, so we didn't stay as long as we'd have liked.

Can we please have some of southern England's high temperatures?
