More happy hippos

Winter is the best time of year for seeing the Lake St Lucia hippos on dry land. The combination of lower water temperatures, fewer insects and relatively weaker sunshine mean that they are more inclined to expose their surprisingly delicate skin and sleep on the banks during the daytime.
