Click beetle

I had a great lunchtime walk pottering around the botanical gardens behind my office. The sun was out and there were insects everywhere. I watched the masses of bees and hoverflies around one tree in blossom and then watched the gangs of sawfly larvae chewing up one of the bushes. Lots of beetles around too - I liked this one walking down the stem of a corn cockle plant growing in the Grow Wild area that was planted last September. The buds are on the plants and I'm sure they'll be flowering soon.

It was hard going back into the office after such an interesting wildlife walk.
