Bearded vultures

We had the most spectacular day amongst the flowers and wildlife in the Val da Fain near the Bernina pass: herds of ibex with their young, birds of prey, marmots, frogs and spawn in the icy lake and carpets of wildflowers. There was a bit of tramping through snow but it was worth it to get to the head of the pass and to have it to ourselves (shared with the wildlife).
A storm rages in our valley tonight with spectacular lightning strikes and thunder claps. I just saw a flash of burning red at the end of one, which was probably a tree being struck.
