The 1824 (ish) notice on Charmouth Bridge. Apparently these were all over Dorset and many still remain. also most had the name Dorset cut out during WWII as part of the "confuse the enemy if they invade" works - the South West was considered a major target for invasion, so much so that all road signs and references to places were removed.
