Fledgling Bald Eagle

A friend from my photo club took me today to a spot with a good (though long-distant) view of a bald eagle nest, in South Hadley Mass. The two eaglets are clearly ready to fledge (leave the nest), repeatedly flexing their wings.  One of the parents made a brief appearance, but not nearly close enough to appear in this shot.

Just a note on the size of the nest:  The fledgling is adult size, with a wing span of over six feet.  This means the nest must be at least ten feet  (three meters) across--more than a king-size bed.
