The dancing Virgin

We're finally back from Munich and waiting for a train back to Blackburn. When we saw the weather in Manchester we were tempted to stay on the plane.

Today is Corpus Christi. A public holiday in Munich. It's really well observed. As we walked into the City Centre all the shops were closed and the streets were eerily quiet. Marianplatz was ablaze with decoration and a magnificent temporary altar as the destination for a procession of church groups, nuns, bishops and Guilds.

Using the zoom lens I captured this dancing Virgin atop a pole. I thought she deserved a blip.
